Welcome! The Caribbean where warm breezes, turquoise water and slow days set the pace. Travelling to unwind on beautiful beaches, savor bold flavors and immerse in the rhythms, culture and everyday life of each island. This blog is where I share my love for winter escapes, laid back travel, and discovering the heart of the Caribbean one island at a time.
ABOUT

Hello! I’m Len born and raised in Ontario, Canada where living here comes with one unavoidable reality: Winter. I been working in the medical field for 25 years and for the last 15, every Winter-when the temperature drops and snow starts to fly-that’s my que to pack my bag and head to the sunny Caribbean to relax, recharge and soak up the sunshine.
Aruba 2025

Aruba is one of my favorite islands, known for its stunning white-sandy beaches, clear turquoise water, and warm trade winds that keep things comfortable anytime of the year. The people of Aruba are incredibly friendly and welcoming you will hear a mix of languages that reflect the islands, culture. Aruba’s vibe is easygoing and relaxed, with great food, lively music and a strong sense of pride in island life.
Once your on the island, the best way to get around is by renting a car or by taxi, as there are sights to see from one end of the island to the other. A must-do while visiting is beach hopping. I stayed in the Palm beach area and was lucky enough to get to visit Baby Beach, Eagle Beach and Flamingo Beach. Flamingo beach is what drew me to Aruba. It is located on Renaissance Private Island and is mainly for guests of the Renaissance hotel, though visitors can purchase a day pass to experience the beach and see the beautiful flamingos. There are plenty of sites to see, from the historic California Lighthouse to Arikok National Park and the Conchi Natural pool. There’s also a variety of boat and catamaran cruises to choose from. On my last visit, I explored the Aruba Aloe Factory and ventured into The Butterfly farm, both of which were great experiences.
If you love to shop, downtown Oranjestad offers great shopping and plenty of restaurants, perfect for grabbing a meal or cooling off with an ice-cold beverage. There is so much more left to discover, but that will have to wait for another adventure.
